Mudgee, or "Nest in the Hills" as the Aboriginals called it, is situated in the Great Dividing Range of New South Wales in the Wine-producing region known as the Central Ranges.
The country is picturesque and undulating, surrounded by forested hills and lush vineyards.
The region has reliable summer weather with cool nights, which make for longer and slower ripening than other areas.
The rich volcanic soils with quartz produce wines of great depth and character.
The township of Mudgee is 260 kms. or about a 3 1/2 drive from Sydney with the Mudgee Wine Region stretching from the township of Dunedoo in the north down through the towns of Gulgong, Mudgee and to Rylstone and Kandos in the South.
